Visitor Guide

Taksim Mosque is open to visit and worship seven days a week. The mosque opens one hour before the morning call to prayer (adhan) and closes at 12 a.m. (midnight). Special opening-closing hours are applied on religious special days, holy nights, religious holidays and the month of Ramadan.
Mosque visits are free.

Visitor Rules

  1. Taksim Mosque is a sanctuary which is open to worship.
  2. In accordance with Allah's command and mosque etiquette; Our visitors are required to enter the mosque in a hijab (cover properly where they need to be covered). For this, our visitors can use the covers at the entrance of the mosque.
  3. Our visitors should not speak loudly in the mosque and its courtyard, and should stay away from actions that would disturb the peace of worship.
  4. Smoking is prohibited in all parts of the mosque, including its garden and courtyard.
  5. Visit and worship areas are separated from each other in the mosque, this distinction should be respected.
  6. Food and drink should not be consumed inside the mosque.
  7. Mobile phones should be silenced for a comfortable and peaceful worship. If it is necessary to talk by phone in an emergency, the interview should be completed very quickly, without disturbing the peace of worship, by speaking in a short and low voice.
  8. During prayer hours, no photos should be taken inside the mosque and no images should be taken with the camera.
  9. It is not appropriate to enter the mosque without socks in terms of cleanliness and health rules.
  10. When entering the mosque, suitcases and baby carriages are not allowed inside. Our visitors are requested to be careful in this regard and not to insist on the contrary.
  11. Our visitors are required to comply with the warnings and directions of the security personnel and all authorized personnels with personnel identification cards.
  12. The elevator and special entrance doors are available for our disabled and wheelchair visitors, you can get support from the personnels on the subject.
  13. To ask questions and get information, you can contact with the imam, muezzin, mosque guide and personnels.
  14. All these rules are for your visit to be more peaceful and beneficial.

Transportation

Public Transport
You can easily and comfortably reach Taksim Mosque, located in Beyoğlu Taksim Square, by public transport. You can reach the mosque  from both the Anatolian Side and the European Side by ferry, funicular line, IETT, private minibuses, especially Marmaray and Metro by many transportation systems.


Private Zehicle
Our visitors, who can reach Taksim Square by private vehicle from both the Anatolian Side and the European Side, can use the Taksim Mosque Car Park for a fee.


Taksim Mosque Car Park
There is a 4-storey, 165-car paid car park under Taksim Mosque,. Leaving your vehicles in the car park and using the elevator; you can go up to the mosque, the Square and Istiklal Street. There are also 2 electrical charging units-stations for electrical vehicles in the mosque car park.
